Coupon codes let you credit a sale to a specific affiliate or referral partner without relying on a clickable link. They're the go-to option for platforms where links don't work well, such as an Instagram bio or a story, or any situation where an affiliate is sharing a code out loud or in print rather than online. You manage affiliate coupon codes from Marketing > Affiliate Manager in Aesthetix CRM.
Discount flexibility: Give an affiliate's followers a discount or a special promotion tied directly to that affiliate.
Customizable discounts: Set a coupon anywhere from 0% to 100% off. A 100% coupon works for free consults or services; a 0% coupon still tracks the sale to the affiliate without changing the price at all.
Works where links don't: Coupon codes are ideal for social platforms and offline promotion where a trackable referral link isn't clickable or practical.
In the left navigation, go to Marketing, then open Affiliate Manager.

Click Affiliate, then select the affiliate you want to set up a coupon for from the list.

On the affiliate's profile, click Customize.

Click Coupon Code.

Enter a user-friendly coupon name, one your affiliate can easily share with their audience (a name tied to their handle or practice works well).

Click Generate Code to create the coupon.

Set the discount amount:
For a free service or consult, set the discount to 100%.
For a partial discount, set any percentage from 0% to 100%. A 0% discount is used purely for tracking; the patient's price doesn't change, but the sale is still attributed to the affiliate.

Select the coupon type (percentage or fixed amount).

Click Save to finalize the coupon code. You can return to this same window at any time to edit or manage existing coupon codes.

If this coupon reduces what a patient pays at checkout, make sure your practice is set up to collect the remaining balance smoothly. AX Pay, Aesthetix CRM's built-in payment processor, offers better rates than Stripe and works natively with affiliate coupons, order forms, and store checkout. See the AX Pay help article for setup steps.
Keep coupon names short and easy to say or type. Affiliates share these verbally and in captions, so a clean, memorable code gets used more often than a long or clever one.
Review your active coupon codes periodically and retire or update them as your promotions and affiliate roster change.
If a coupon isn't tied to an active promotion anymore, edit its discount or deactivate it rather than leaving it live indefinitely.
General coupon and discount code setup for your store, products, and order forms lives in Payments. This guide covers coupons that are linked to a specific affiliate for attribution; the underlying coupon mechanics (percentage vs. fixed, expiration, usage limits) work the same way there.
What's the difference between a referral link and a coupon code for affiliate tracking? A referral link tracks a click and attributes any resulting sale to the affiliate automatically. A coupon code does the same thing, but the patient has to enter the code themselves at checkout instead of clicking a link. Coupons work well anywhere a clickable link isn't available, like an Instagram bio or a printed flyer.
Can a coupon give a patient a completely free service? Yes. Set the discount to 100% and the patient pays nothing, while the sale still gets attributed to the affiliate for commission and reporting purposes.
What does a 0% discount coupon actually do? It doesn't change the price at all. It exists purely so you can track which affiliate drove a sale, without applying any discount to the patient.
Do I need to create a separate coupon for every affiliate? Yes. Each coupon code is generated from that specific affiliate's profile in the Affiliate Manager, so create one for each affiliate you want to track individually.
Can I edit a coupon code after I've created it? Yes. Open the affiliate's profile, click Customize, then Coupon Code, and you can edit the discount amount, type, or name from the same window used to create it.
Should I choose a percentage or a fixed amount discount? Use a percentage discount when you want the savings to scale with the price of the service (for example, 20% off any treatment). Use a fixed amount when you want a set dollar figure off regardless of the service price.
Can an affiliate create or choose their own coupon code? No. Coupon codes are generated from within the affiliate's profile in Aesthetix CRM by your team. You can name the code after the affiliate to make it easy for them to remember and share.
Where do I see commissions once a coupon-based sale comes in? Commission tracking and payout details for affiliates are managed elsewhere in the Affiliate Manager and through Workflows automation. The coupon's only job is to attribute the sale correctly; commission calculation happens once that sale is recorded.
