Facebook and Instagram Post Sync brings your existing posts from those platforms into the Social Planner, so you can view past content and insights alongside newly scheduled and published posts. Instead of managing historical content separately on each platform, your practice gets one complete view of its social publishing and analytics.
Both Post Sync features are currently in Beta. To enable them for your account, go to Settings > Labs, search for Facebook Post Sync or Instagram Post Sync, and turn the feature on. Your Facebook or Instagram account must be connected before syncing can begin.
Post Sync imports your existing Facebook Page and Instagram posts into the Social Planner so you can view, manage, and analyze past content in the same place as your upcoming posts. By pulling in recent posts and refreshing engagement data on a regular cadence, it keeps your reporting accurate while removing the need to recreate content by hand.
Key benefits for your practice include:
Centralized post management: View past Facebook and Instagram posts inside the Social Planner instead of tracking historical content separately on each platform.
No manual recreation: Bring recent existing posts into the Social Planner without rebuilding them one by one.
Better performance visibility: Review synced post insights in Statistics to understand how past content performed.
Improved reporting accuracy: Keep more of your publishing history inside one reporting workflow.
Faster onboarding: Connect an account and quickly pull in recent post history when setting up a new location.
A few setup and platform behaviors affect what you see after enabling sync, especially during the first import and during future refresh cycles.
Post Sync only works for connected Facebook Pages and Instagram Professional accounts.
The standard sync window includes the last 30 days of posts.
The first sync may retrieve additional historical posts where the platform supports it.
Posts are synced up to the current day based on UTC time.
Sync continues automatically in the background after setup.
Insights refresh every 24 hours rather than continuously, which keeps the sync within Facebook and Instagram API limits.
Reconnecting access may be required if permissions expire.
Post Sync imports recent Page and profile content and processes supported media automatically during import.
Posts from the last 30 days are synced into the Social Planner, with an extended historical fetch possible on the first sync.
Facebook: text, images, and videos are supported. Video sync is supported up to platform limits.
Instagram: images, videos, carousels, and reels are supported, and content is imported directly into your Social Planner calendar.
Media is processed automatically during import using batch handling for smoother imports.
Because of Instagram API limitations, some details may not be available after syncing:
Location tags, collaborator details, and mentions may not come through.
Posts deleted on Instagram will still appear in the Social Planner, because syncing is one-way.
Only Instagram Professional accounts (Business or Creator) connected through Facebook Login or Instagram Login are supported.
You can turn on Post Sync while connecting an account, or later from Social Planner settings. The steps are the same for Facebook and Instagram.
Go to Marketing > Social Planner.
Click + Socials.
In the Connect Socials popup, enable the Sync Posts Automatically toggle.
Click Connect and finish linking your Facebook or Instagram account.
Once enabled, the Social Planner will begin syncing your posts automatically.
If your account is already connected, you can enable Post Sync later.
Go to Marketing > Social Planner.
Click Settings.
Go to Social Accounts, then select Facebook or Instagram.
Enable the Sync Posts toggle for the page or profile you want.
The system will start syncing posts in the background.
Open the Planner to review synced posts alongside your scheduled content.
Open Statistics to review synced performance data.
If you see a disconnect or expired-access message, follow the reconnect prompt to resume syncing.
How far back will posts sync? Post Sync automatically imports posts from the last 30 days. In some cases, an extended historical fetch may occur during the initial sync if the platform supports it.
How often do synced posts update? Post insights and analytics refresh every 24 hours. This keeps the data current while staying within Facebook and Instagram API limits.
What happens if my account disconnects? If your Facebook or Instagram connection expires, syncing pauses and you will see a reconnect prompt in the Social Planner. Reconnect your account to resume syncing.
Can I disable Post Sync later? Yes. Turn off the Sync Posts Automatically toggle anytime from Social Planner settings. This stops future syncing but does not delete posts that were already imported.
What types of content are supported? Facebook sync supports text, images, and videos. Instagram sync supports images, videos, carousels, and reels.
Do I need a specific type of Instagram account? Yes. Only Instagram Professional accounts (Business or Creator) are supported.
Why are some Instagram details like tags or collaborators missing? Because of Instagram API limitations, certain data such as location tags, mentions, and collaborator details may not be available.
What happens if I delete a post on Instagram? The deleted post will still appear in the Social Planner, because syncing is one-way.
What should I do if my posts are not syncing? Check your account connection and reconnect Facebook or Instagram if prompted.
