Instagram Collaborator Posts (Collab Posts) let two accounts share the same post in their Feed or Reels. The post appears to both audiences at once, which makes it a strong tool for partnerships: a featured injector or provider, a local business cross-promotion, a product brand you carry, or an influencer campaign. You can set up and schedule Collab Posts directly from the Social Planner in Aesthetix CRM, so a single upload reaches both sets of followers.
Post to two Instagram accounts with a single upload.
Expand reach to both accounts' followers.
Drive higher engagement and community growth.
Simplify influencer campaigns and co-marketing.
Let the collaborator approve the invite natively on Instagram, which reduces friction.
Works for both Feed and Reels post types.
Your Instagram account must be connected in the Social Planner. To check, click the gear icon next to New Post to open Social Planner settings, and if your account is not connected, click Add Account and complete the connection.
You need the collaborator's exact Instagram handle. The collaborator does not need to be connected in the Social Planner; they only need a valid handle.
Go to Marketing → Social Planner. From the left-hand menu, click Marketing, then select Social Planner.
Confirm your Instagram account is connected. Click the gear icon next to New Post to open settings, and connect your account with Add Account if it is not linked yet.
Click New Post to create content. Select your Instagram profile from the list of connected accounts, then add your caption, hashtags, location, and the images or video for the post.
Choose the post type: Feed or Reel. Collaborator Posts only work as a Feed or Reel, so use the dropdown to select the correct format. Stories and carousels do not support the Collab feature.
Add a collaborator. Scroll to the Collaborator section and enter the exact Instagram handle of the person or brand you want to collaborate with, for example @partneraccount. An invalid handle will fail to invite.
Schedule or publish the post. Choose a publish date and time, or click Post Now. Once the post goes live, your collaborator receives a notification on Instagram to accept the invite. After they accept, the post appears on both accounts' Feeds or Reels tabs.
Post type: only Feed and Reels support collaboration. Stories and carousels are not supported.
Exact handle required: enter the collaborator's handle exactly as it appears on Instagram. An invalid handle will not receive the invite.
Approval happens on Instagram: the collaborator invite is managed entirely on Instagram after the post is published. There is no pre-approval step inside Aesthetix CRM.
Set the collaborator before publishing: you cannot add or change the collaborator after the post is live.
If your Collab Post includes patient before and after photos, confirm you have written consent to use those images publicly before you publish. Once the post is live it is outside Aesthetix CRM and cannot be recalled through the planner.
Can I tag multiple collaborators in one post? No. Instagram currently allows only one collaborator per post using the Collab feature.
What happens if the collaborator does not accept the invite? The post still appears on your Instagram profile, but it will not show on the collaborator's profile unless they accept the request.
Can I schedule a Collaborator Post in advance? Yes. Collaborator Posts can be scheduled like any other Instagram post in the Social Planner. The collaborator is notified when the post goes live.
Does the collaborator need to be connected in the Social Planner? No. The collaborator only needs a valid Instagram handle. The collaboration happens natively on Instagram after the post is published.
Can I change the collaborator after posting? No. The collaborator must be set before publishing. You cannot modify collaborators once the post is live.
Does this work for both Business and Creator accounts? Yes. Both account types support the Collaborator feature as long as they are eligible for Collab Posts on Instagram.
Which post types support collaboration? Only Feed posts and Reels. Stories and carousel posts do not support the Collab feature.
