The Client Portal is a branded, self-service space where your clients log in to access what you've shared with them. You can tailor its appearance to match your practice, connect it to a custom domain so it lives on your own web address, and control who has access. The Client Portal is also the home for any memberships and courses you offer, so anything you set up here (branding, domain) carries through to that experience as well.
This guide walks you through branding your Client Portal, configuring a custom domain, and answers the questions that come up most often during setup.
Personalize and customize your Client Portal's appearance so it reflects your practice's identity. From here you can set a name, description, brand colors, favicon, portal image, logo, support email, and copyright details.
Step 1: Click "Marketing" in the left navigation menu.
Step 2: Click "Websites."
Step 3: Click "Client Portal." Begin by navigating to your account's Client Portal section, typically found in the left navigation menu when you're logged in.
Step 4: Click "Branding." Once inside the Client Portal section, locate the "Branding" option to start personalizing your portal. In the Branding area, you can fully tailor the appearance of your Client Portal using the settings below.
Step 5: Input the "Portal Name." Enter a custom name for your portal, which will be prominently displayed on the site.
Step 6: Input the "Portal Description." Add a brief description informing users about the portal or the services it offers.
Step 7: Select "Brand Color One." Choose a primary color to represent your brand on the portal. This is typically used for buttons, headings, or highlights.
Step 8: Select "Brand Color Two." Choose a secondary color that complements the primary hue, adding depth and variation to the portal's color palette.
Step 9: Add a "Favicon." Upload a small icon that represents the portal in the browser tab when it's opened. Favicons should be square (1:1 aspect ratio), in SVG, PNG, or JPG format, with sizes up to 16x16 pixels.
Step 10: Add a "Portal Image." Upload a square (1:1) image in SVG, PNG, or JPG format (maximum 720x720 pixels) to serve as the main branding image in your Client Portal.
Step 11: Add a "Logo." Upload your brand logo to feature on the portal. Like favicons, use a 1:1 aspect ratio in SVG, PNG, or JPG format, not exceeding 200x200 pixels.
Step 12: Input a "Support Email." Provide an email address clients can use to reach you regarding any questions or issues with the portal.
Step 13: Input your "Copyright." Include copyright details (for example, "© 2023 Your Practice Name") to establish ownership and protect your content.
Step 14: Click "Cancel" to discard changes. If you want to revert to your previous settings, select "Cancel" before saving.
Step 15: Click "Save." Remember to click "Save Settings" after making all your adjustments to apply the customizations to your Client Portal.
Connecting a custom domain lets your Client Portal live on your own web address instead of a default one. This walks you through pointing your domain to the portal and adding the required DNS records.
Step 1: Click "Marketing" in the left navigation menu.
Step 2: Click "Funnels."
Step 3: Click "Client Portal."
Step 4: Click "Domain Setup." Within the Client Portal section, navigate to "Domain Setup."
Step 5: Click "Custom Domain."
Step 6: Open the Custom Domain settings.
Step 7: Input your custom domain. Enter your preferred domain name.
Before setting up an A or CNAME record, make sure your domain registrar is configured to point to the specific IP address or server provided to you. This step is crucial for enabling your domain to correctly reference your server so the portal functions properly.
An A (Address) Record maps your domain to a specific server IP address, whereas a CNAME (Canonical Name) Record maps your domain (or subdomain) to another domain name.
To add A records and CNAME records, follow these steps:
Log in to your domain registrar's dashboard.
Go to the DNS settings.
Find and select the option to add a new record.
Choose the desired record type (A or CNAME).
Enter the details — an IP address for an A record and the target domain for a CNAME record.
Save the changes.
Please Note: It's important to replace the "designated IP address or server" placeholder with your actual IP address or server information in the record. Make sure to fill out this field accurately, as it's essential to correctly configure your domain settings.
Step 8: Click "Update Domain." Once you have entered the DNS records with your domain registrar, give them a reasonable time to propagate (depending on your registrar), then click Update Domain.
Please Note: The exact time of DNS propagation can vary due to several factors, such as the TTL set for the DNS record, your ISP's update frequency, and geographical factors. Typically, it is suggested to allow between 24 to 48 hours for DNS propagation. Your domain registrar's help center is the best resource for registrar-specific propagation guidance.
The branding changes on my Client Portal are not visible. What could be the issue?
Cache issues might be causing this. Clear your browser's cache or view the portal in an incognito window. If the problem persists, contact our support team.
Can I apply different branding to separate accounts in the Client Portal?
Yes. Each account can have its own unique branding within the Client Portal. Customize logos, color schemes, and other visual elements to represent each account's distinct brand identity. Access the "Branding" option within the chosen account and modify it as needed.
Affiliates report difficulties accessing their statistics on the Client Portal. What should I do?
Confirm that affiliates have the correct login information and the necessary permissions to view their stats. If the issue continues, reach out to our support team for additional help.
Despite proper DNS record configuration, my Client Portal remains inaccessible. Why?
DNS changes may require up to 48 hours to propagate across the internet, so recent adjustments may not appear instantly. If the issue lasts beyond 48 hours, contact your domain registrar for assistance.
I cannot upload a customized favicon for my Client Portal. What is the recommended format and size?
Favicons should have a 1:1 aspect ratio and be in SVG, PNG, or JPG format with dimensions no larger than 16x16 pixels. If your favicon meets these requirements and problems persist, reach out to our support team.
