Snippets (also called message templates) are the reusable blocks of text you save for emails and SMS so you never have to retype the same message twice. As your practice grows, your snippet library needs upkeep — content changes, offers expire, and some templates simply outlive their usefulness. This guide walks you through managing that library in Aesthetix CRM: editing and customizing an existing snippet, keeping your collection organized, and deleting the ones you no longer need. Keeping your library lean and current means faster, more consistent, and more professional communication with your clients and prospects.
There are two paths to your snippet library, and both open the same set of templates.
Step 1: Open your snippets from the Inbox. Click Inbox, then select Template Snippets from the menu. This is the quickest route when you're already working through client conversations.
Step 2: Or open them from Marketing. Click Marketing, then choose the option to manage and edit your text templates. From here you can browse through the full list of available snippets.
Whichever path you take, you'll land on the same library, and any change you make applies everywhere those snippets are used — across your Inbox conversations and your Marketing tools alike.
Editing lets you refresh the wording, formatting, or style of a snippet so your outreach stays targeted and on-brand. Changes you save here take effect immediately, so the next time you insert that snippet it reflects your updates.
Step 1: Browse to the snippet you want to change. In your snippet library, scroll through the list of available templates and locate the one you'd like to update.
Step 2: Open it for editing. Click the snippet directly, or locate and click the edit icon next to it. Either action opens the snippet so you can make changes.
Step 3: Rename the snippet if desired. Give it a clearer or more descriptive name so it's easy to find later. A consistent naming approach makes your whole library easier to scan.
Step 4: Insert custom values. Select the custom values you want to include so the snippet automatically fills in personalized details — such as a client's first name — each time it's used.
Step 5: Add a trigger link. Choose the trigger link you want to include in the snippet, so recipients can take an action directly from your message.
Step 6: Edit the body of your snippet. Update the main content, format, and style until the message reads the way you want.
Step 7: Attach a file by URL. If you want to include a file, add it via its URL, then click Attach File to include it with the snippet.
Step 8: Save your changes. Click Save to apply everything you've edited. Your updated snippet is now ready to use across your communications.
A tidy library is a fast library. As you edit, use clear, consistent snippet names so you and your team can find the right template at a glance. Rename anything that's vague, and take a moment periodically to review your list — flag templates that are outdated or duplicated so you can update or remove them. Keeping your collection organized ensures uniformity and a professional tone across every message you send.
When a snippet is outdated or no longer serves a purpose, removing it keeps your library lean and clutter-free. Deletion happens right from the same library, and once removed, a snippet is no longer available to insert into messages.
Step 1: Open your snippet library. Navigate to your Inbox, then go to Template Snippets. You can also reach your templates through Marketing.
Step 2: Choose the snippet to remove. Browse the list and select the message template you no longer need.
Step 3: Delete it. Click the trash icon, then confirm by clicking Delete to remove the snippet from your library.
Managing your library also means growing it. To create a new snippet, tap the Add Template button and build out your new template. It will join the rest of your library, ready to edit, organize, or reuse just like the others.
Where do my snippet changes take effect? Your snippet library is shared across the platform. When you edit or delete a snippet, the change applies everywhere that snippet is used — including your Inbox conversations and your Marketing tools. There's no need to update it in more than one place.
What's the difference between a snippet and a message template? They're the same thing. "Snippet" and "message template" both refer to the reusable pieces of email or SMS content you save in your library to speed up and standardize your client communication.
Can I reach my snippets from more than one place? Yes. You can open your snippet library from the Inbox under Template Snippets, or from Marketing by choosing to manage and edit your text templates. Both routes open the same library.
Will deleting a snippet affect messages I've already sent? No. Deleting a snippet only removes it from your library so it can no longer be inserted going forward. Messages you've already sent are unaffected.
Can I personalize a snippet for each recipient? Yes. Add custom values to your snippet so details like a client's first name fill in automatically each time the snippet is used, and add trigger links so recipients can take action directly from your message.
