What is Version History?
Version History is a built-in timeline of every saved state of a workflow. Each entry records who made the edit, the exact timestamp, and whether the version was a Draft or Published build. You can browse up to 10 versions or 30 days of history, whichever comes first.
How Versions Are Created
A new version is recorded when:
You manually click Save
You confirm changes in the Unsaved Changes prompt
You click Save Version to snapshot your current state
The workflow status changes (e.g., Draft → Published or Published → Draft)
Note: Routine auto-saves do not create new version entries on their own. To capture your current work as a named version, click Save Version in the workflow builder toolbar.
How to Restore a Previous Version
Go to Automations → Workflows and open the workflow you want to restore.
Open the Version History sidebar from the workflow builder toolbar.
Browse the list of saved versions. Each entry shows the version label (e.g., v12, v13), the editor's name, the timestamp, and the workflow status at that point.
Click Restore next to the version you want to revert to.
The selected version opens as a new draft. Your currently published workflow remains live and unchanged.
Review the restored draft and make any adjustments needed, then click Publish when ready.
Important Limitations
Restoring a version rolls back the workflow's structure and configuration only. It does not undo any actions already taken on contacts — if a workflow sent emails or moved contacts through a pipeline, those actions are not reversed.
Version History stores a maximum of 10 versions or 30 days, whichever limit is reached first. Older entries are not recoverable once they fall outside this window.
Tips
Use Save Version before making significant changes so you have a clean restore point.
You can also use a previous version as the starting point for a brand-new workflow — select the version and choose the option to create a new workflow from it.
Use the filter in the Version History sidebar to view edits by a specific team member.
