How to Setup Your OpenAI Account

Step 1: Create an OpenAI Account

1. Visit https://platform.openai.com/signup.

2. Sign up using your email address, Google account, or Microsoft account.

3. Verify your email address by clicking the confirmation link sent to your inbox.

4. Once verified, log in at https://platform.openai.com/login.

Step 2: Retrieve Your OpenAI API Key

1. After logging in, go to the API Keys page: https://platform.openai.com/account/api-keys.

2. Click on the “Create new secret key” button.

3. (Optional) Assign a name to your key for easy identification.

4. Copy the generated key. It will only be shown once. Store it securely in a password manager or secured environment variable.

Step 3: Update Your Billing Information

1. Navigate to https://platform.openai.com/account/billing.

2. In the “Billing Overview” section, click “Payment methods.”

3. Add or update your credit or debit card information.

4. To track usage and set spending limits, go to the “Usage” section at https://platform.openai.com/account/usage.
